Former Stations of the Youngstown Fire Department

In its 133 year history, beginning with the volunteer department, Youngstown has operated out of 23 stations throughout the city. Only 9 of those are active right now and only 15 have been active at any one time. Most were closed due to age and replacement stations being built in the area, but some were closed due to financial reasons or lack of responses in that stations area. Youngstown's first station was the Gov. Tod Firehouse, named after the man who helped start the volunteer department; it was opened in 1868. The city's newest stations are Number 2(c), opened in January 29, 1992,  and  Number 3(d), opened May 22, 1992.
