About Myself

Station 2(b)

Station 2(B) was opened on April 1, 1950 at Oak and Fruit Streets on the cities lower east side. It replaced the old wooden station that was at the same location. It would serve the city until September 8, 1980 when this station as well as No.3(C) fire station at Belmont and Emerson Place and No.14 fire station at South and Boston closed. It currently houses a neighborhood crime watch station. Station 2(B) and Station 5(B) are mirrors of each other, one having the apparatus bay on the right side, the other on the left. Both stations opened within months of each other.
