Station 2(a)
The first Number 2 station would open in February of 1888 at the southeast corner of Oak and Fruit Sts. to provide fire service to the expanding population of the city's East Side. This station would close and be condemned on May 18, 1949, when construction on a new No.2 station began at the same location.
