Station 4

On December 17, 1896 No.4 Fire Station on the south side of Falls Ave. near Oak Hill opened with Combination Chemical and Hose No.4 being its first piece of apparatus. The station was built by Owsley and Boucharle. This station would remain active until March 29, 1972 when it and No.11 fire station at Poland and Jones closed. There were several attempts to get the building declared a historic landmark, but in the end, it is demolished on May 12, 1975.
