About Myself

Station 3(b/c)

Station 3 (b/c) opened July 11, 1922 at Thomas and Foster on the city's lower North Side. This station would be shut down on January 14, 1934 to begin preparation for moving the building to the corner of Belmont Ave. and Emerson Place. Station 3(b) and 3(c) are the same buildings, just at different locations. The moving of the station was part of a WPA program during 1934. Station 3(b/c) remained an active station until September 8, 1980, when this station, No.2(b) fire station at Oak and Fruit, and No.14 fire station at South and Boston closes. Station 3(b/c) became a recycling center after it was closed and was later torn down in the early 1990's to make way for a doctor's office.
