Franklin/The Record     Tuesday, September 11, 2001, 4 hijacked airliners, all on U.S. domestic flights, became the weapons used to launch mass destruction in the United States. Two of the planes struck each of the World Trade buildings in NYC, resulting in their collapse. One more struck the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., resulting in its partial collapse. A fourth aircraft smashed into rural-Pennsylvania, with some saying it was heading to Camp David, the President's official retreat.

Thousands of people remain missing and are presumed dead under the rubble of WTC buildings and the Pentagon. Several hundred emergency personnel from the FDNY and NYPD who were operating at the time of the collapse of the towers, remain missing, and are presumed dead. 343 FDNY firefighters and paramedics have been declared dead or missing.

All of these men gave there lives in support of their fellow citizens, doing their job to the fullest, and they all answered the "Final Alarm", 5-5-5-5.
