About Myself

Engine 6

Engine 6 is a 1987 Pierce Dash which had previously served as Rescue Engine/Squad 33 out of Station 1 until 1992. It has a 1250gpm pump and a 500 gallon water tank. Engine 6 came back from a rehab in early July 2001, where is received the department's new standard paint job, which is solid red with gold trim. What is unique about the new paint is that there is a rubber material within the paint in order to help protect the truck against high heat that it may see on the fireground. As far as I know, Engine 6 is the first YFD truck to receive this new type of paint.
